Event E16: The Transient X-Gamma-ray Sky: Recent Results and Future Directions -->

The last 10 years represent a golden age for X and Gamma Ray Astronomy. Many scientific topics have been addressed and new windows of investigation are emerging. The large fields of view of instrumentation on board INTEGRAL, SWIFT, AGILE and more recently FERMI, allow for a much better knowledge of the transient sky on different time and energy scales.

The aim of this event is to gather scientists working in the high energy domain to review the science with focus on the most promising results as a tool for future direction in this field. Transient phenomena, from the most energetic to the very faint and the new obscured source populations will be reviewed. There will be invited talks as well as contributed talks aimed to summarize the current situation and the still-open questions to focus future investigation on. Event sponsored by: ESA, INAF, IASF-Roma/INAF, NASA
